About Marienfeld Germany Mounting Media, Histofluid – 500 ml

The Marienfeld Germany Histofluid mounting media is a clear acrylic resin dissolved in xylene, designed for embedding and mounting microscopic preparations. Hardening quickly due to its optical properties, it allows specimens to be examined and filed shortly after covering. Histofluid can also firmly lock and seal bottle caps, ensuring long-term stability without fissures or deformation, even under temperature changes. Sensitive colorations are preserved due to an acid number of 0, and the media does not yellow under UV exposure, fluoresce, or form bubbles. With a refractive index of 1.5 (nD 20 °C) matching microscope slides and cover glasses, it provides excellent optical clarity.

The mounting media is water-repellent, soluble in xylene, acetone, chloroform, dioxane, and toluene, and has an unlimited shelf life if stored in a well-sealed bottle. Filled in special bottles for hazardous materials (UN1307), it is ideal for laboratory embedding and mounting applications.
